Linda Pool spoke at the Guild's June 2009 meeting and brought a trunk show of her quilts, including her famous quilts, The Bride and A Girl's Life. Pictures from that lecture appear below.
In May, 2009, the guild hosted a workshop with Helen Squire on quilting those UFO's (UnFinished Objects).
At our February, 2009, meeting, guild member Betsy Lucia shared her extensive experience with photo transfers, showing samples of all types of available products and explaining how to choose the best product for various types of projects.
In February, 2009,Beth Carlson, who is well-known for her applique work, shared some of her teniques at a workshop for our Guild. She is known for her beautiful applique work. Pictures from that workshop appear below.
The guild kicked off the new year with a lecture by Gyleen Fitzgerald, "Unfinished Stories with New Endings." Gyleen spoke at the Guild's January 2009 meeting where she shared with us a huge number of quilts that were made or inspired by vintage and antique quilt blocks. She acquired lots of blocks from the 1930's - 1950's. In the process of assembling these blocks into finished quilts, she was inspired to use modern fabrics and lines to create modern quilts from old patterns, which led to her book, Quilts: Unfinished Stories with New Endings.
