Animal Welfare League Cat Hammocks
Brenda Barnhardt is an active supporter of the Animal Welfare League (AWL) of Frederick County. On behalf of the AWL, Brenda is requesting fabric cat hammocks for kittens and cats in foster care and at the League's adoption events including every Saturday at the Frederick Petsmart. The hammocks hang from the sides of wire “Tokyo” cat cages so the kittens and cats are more comfortable than laying on plastic shelves and floors.
The dimensions are approximately 25” x 26” and made like a “square” pillow case with closed edges. A picture is shown below. The corners are reinforced with extra stitching to help support the hanging of the hammock on 4 sides with large grommets (also shown in the picture at the left). The fabric should be “snuggly” like polar fleece, fake fur, etc. and very washable (they are washed after every use). The fabric should be substantial enough to support the weight of a cat or two and withstand wear and tear.
If anyone has any questions, they can contact Brenda and they can bring them to any future meetings.
